'Allete' is a stunning tall Display Cabinet with elegant lines.  I believe it to be an Edwardian (or 1920’s) mahogany display/bookcase.  It has been lovingly updated and painted in a dark blue/navy (mix of Midnight Blue and Ash Fusion Mineral Paint).  The inside has been decoupaged in a vibrant turquoise and gold iridescent Dragonfly design wallpaper by Matthew Williamson and painted with a matching turquoise matt paint. The beautiful detailing of the glass doors has been enhanced with gold metallic leaf as has the mouldings top and bottom.  The glass in the doors and sides is in very good vintage condition (for marks see photos) and has a subtle ripple to it that bounces the light beautifully, unfortunately this effect is difficult to catch in a photograph.  The interior has been cleaned and restored and it is in great vintage condition and the base is protected by the original glass covering.  The lock and catches are original as are the 3 original glass shelves which are in good condition with very few marks (please see photos).
A beautiful Display Cabinet with the added benefit of two useful drawers.  These have been painted in the same interior colour and have solid brass handles.  I don’t believe these handles to be the original handles but had obviously have been paired with this cabinet for a long time and give the cabinet a subtle Chinese influence further enhanced by the mouldings, door style and gold leaf.   This piece would make a wonderful display cabinet for china or glass or as a very cool Cocktail Cabinet to show off all those special cocktail glasses and equipment (that’s what I would use it for!). 
The first glass shelf is approx 38cm from the base and the subsequent 2 shelves are 23cm high.  These are at the height they were at manufacturing and are supported by screw-in ring loop shelf supports but it would not be difficult to alter the heights if necessary by creating additional holes for the supports.
This piece has been sensitively updated, it still shows signs of its vintage heritage but retains all of its charm. Please see all photos.
Although I endeavour to capture the best photographs possible it is not always easy to portray colours accurately, probably due to my lack of expertise as a photographer!  In this piece I would say that interior is a true turquoise, however that can mean different things to different people.  If you are unsure the colour and want confirmation, I am happy to send you a sample of the paper.  Please just get in contact and let me know.
